The future of ultrasound training is here.
SonoSim eliminates the high opportunity cost barrier to ultrasound training.
The opportunity cost of training healthcare providers on ultrasonography is extremely high. Optimal training requires: (1) a qualified instructor; (2) trainees; (3) an ultrasound machine; and (4) a patient with a pathologic condition. All of these elements must come together in one physical space and time, and the process must repeat with new patients presenting with alternative pathologic conditions. It may take months to years before a careprovider is able to scan a sufficient number of patients with certain pathologic conditions. This inability to train on adequate numbers of pathologic cases (abnormals) is a recognized impediment to ultrasound competency. The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution removes this long-standing barrier to ultrasound training.
Real patient-based ultrasound training.
All SonoSim® CaseVolumes are acquired from real patients that have undergone ultrasound imaging. As a result, normal anatomy, ultrasound imaging artifacts, and pathological findings are preserved for user learning. This is in sharp contrast to alternative products that use artist-generated drawings or physical models to simulate ultrasound imagery.
High fidelity hands-on training.
SonoSim users will learn the exact probe movements required to obtain optimal ultrasound imaging windows. Users will receive expert guidance on how to optimally orient the SonoSim® Sensor and corresponding virtual ultrasound probe.
An expansive and diverse collection of hands-on training CaseVolumes.
Over 200 SonoSIm® CaseVolumes are included in the SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution. A broad range of imaging topics directly relevant to point-of-care ultrasonography are provided. Each topic has a series of corresponding hands-on training CaseVolumes.
An integrated ultrasound training solution.
In contrast to existing piecemeal ultrasound training products (e.g., stand-alone simulators or online training videos), the SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution is based upon a well-designed ultrasound training curriculum. It thoughtfully blends didactic teaching and hands-on training with knowledge assessment in an organized, easy-to-use, and engaging format.
A proven-effective training solution.
The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution was shown to improve ultrasound performance measures from 121% (basic scanning procedures) to 535% (diagnostic window interpretation). It has even been shown to be more effective than live-instructor instruction in teaching users how to perform diagnostic ultrasound window interpretation.
Take control of how, when, and where you learn.
The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution uses widely available, low-cost, portable personal computers as training platforms. This allows careproviders to independently train anytime-anywhere and liberates them from exclusively relying upon simulation center or live-instructor led training.
A cost- and time-efficient method to learn ultrasonography.
Developing competence in ultrasonography is understandably a complex process. It may take months to years before a careprovider is able to scan a sufficient number of patients with certain pathologic conditions (e.g., abdominal aortic aneurysm) to develop competence, especially if these clinical encounters are infrequent. SonoSim’s unique technology enables rapid image capture and archiving of critically important (yet rare) cases. Easy access to such critical cases markedly accelerates learning.
