SonoSim® Personal Solution Membership

  • The SonoSim® Personal Solution provides unlimited access to purchased SonoSim® Modules (Courses, Cases and Assessments) for 12-months from the date of Module purchase.
  • SonoSim® Membership is required to maintain access to Modules after initial 12-month trial expires
  • SonoSim® Membership annual fee is 10% of list price of purchased Modules.

Example #1:

If you purchase a SonoSim® Personal Solution that contains five SonoSim® Modules for $3,390, you will have access to the content for 12 months. You can maintain access to all five SonoSim® Modules included in your original purchase for $339 per year (10% of the sum of the Modules' list prices).

SonoSim® Personal Solution Upgrades

  • The SonoSim® Content Library grows on a regular basis as new Modules are added.
  • Customers can purchase additional Modules from the SonoSim® Store at anytime.
  • You can activate your newly purchased content automatically from within the SonoSim® software.
  • Access to purchased SonoSim® Module(s) lasts 12-months from the date of purchase, and can be renewed for an annual fee of 10% of the list price of purchased Modules.

Example #2:

If you purchase a SonoSim® Personal Solution for $3,395 and add $1,797 of additional Modules three months later, your membership will expire 12 months after the respective purchase dates. It will cost $339 ($3,395 x 10%) to renew access to the originally purchased Modules. You would owe $179 ($1,797 x 10%) for the subsequently purchased Modules, three months later.

SonoSim® Edition Licenses & Upgrades

SonoSim® Edition Site Licenses

  • SonoSim® Edition Site Licenses grant institutions 5-years of unlimited access to SonoSim® Modules (Courses, Cases and Assessments).
  • Continued access to Modules beyond the included 5 years is available for 10% of the original Edition purchase price per year.

Example #1:

If you purchase a SonoSim® Edition for $15,000, you maintain access to the SonoSim® Modules included in your original purchase for five years at no additional cost. Maintaining access beyond five years would cost $1,500 ($15,000 x 10%).

SonoSim® Edition Upgrades

  • The SonoSim® Content Library grows on a regular basis as new Modules are added.
  • SonoSim Editions can be expanded anytime by contacting your SonoSim sales representative, emailing sales@sonosim.com, or calling 323-473-3800.
  • Access to purchased SonoSim® Module(s) lasts 12-months from the date of purchase, and can be renewed for an annual fee of 10% of the list price of purchased Modules.

Example #2:

If you purchase a SonoSim® Edition for $15,000 and add $2,500 of additional SonoSim® Modules three months later, then the license will expire 5 years after the respective purchase dates. Thus, to continue content access for a sixth year for all modules, it will cost $1,500 for the initial purchase and then $250 for the additional Modules purchased three months later.

This provides you with a one-year limited warranty and one year of complimentary telephone customer support from the date of purchase.   • Extended SonoSim® Care must be purchased while your SonoSim® Care is still active. Your order is charged at the time of purchase and the additional year(s) is added to the end date of your current SonoSim® Care coverage.

What is the difference between a pre-configured SonoSim® Personal Solution versus creating your own SonoSim® Personal Solution?

  • The SonoSim® Store allows you to choose the SonoSim® Modules that will be included in your SonoSim® Personal Solution. The SonoSim® Store also allows you to select from a series of pre-configured SonoSim® Packages that contain SonoSim® Modules grouped to appeal to specific user groups.

Can a first-time SonoSim customer buy only one standalone SonoSim® Module?

  • Not as a first time purchase. A standard SonoSim® Personal Solution initial purchase requires a minimum of five SonoSim® Modules.

Will more SonoSim® Modules be added to the library in the future?

  • Yes, SonoSim is committed to ensuring all its customers are supported in their lifelong pursuit of developing ultrasound skills. As such, SonoSim is continuously developing and adding new Modules to the SonoSim® Content Library.

Can I purchase more SonoSim® Cases in the future?

Software Compatibility

What are the current browser requirements for the SonoSim® Personal Solution?
The SonoSim® Courses are delivered online through a web browser. We recommend the following browsers:

  • Firefox, Safari, Chrome, IE (v9 or greater) at a minimum screen resolution of 1024×768

Why are only certain browsers supported?

  • HTML5 is becoming the most widely accepted language for structuring and presenting content for the World Wide Web. All SonoSim® Courses are built using this state-of-the-art HTML5 technology to ensure you are provided the best learning experience. While many Internet browsers support HTML5, some still do not. We have provided a list of recommended browsers and versions for online viewing of SonoSim® Courses.

Can I install the SonoSim Personal Solution on my iPad?

  • No. However, an iPad-compatible version of the SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution will soon be released. The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution provides an integrated training experience that includes didactic courses and hands-on training. SonoSim® courses will soon be accessible to customers using iPads. Please contact our sales representative for more information.

My antivirus software reports that my new SonoSim purchase contains a potentially dangerous program. What is happening?

  • Some antivirus software falsely report that certain SonoSim application files are malicious. We encourage protecting your PC from viruses, spyware and other forms of malicious software. However, it is not necessary to run anti-virus and other security applications while you are installing or running the SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution. Anti-virus applications often interfere with programs that interact with hardware, such as the SonoSim® Probe, and can cause a range of problems from sensor connection issues to the application not launching correctly. Please set your anti-virus to “Game Mode” or disable prior to installing and launching the SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution if you are experiencing issues. We are actively registering the SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution on an ongoing basis with antivirus and firewall software vendors to ensure fewer false positives involving our products appear in the future.

Will the SonoSim® Personal Solution work on my computer?

Why can I only buy one SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution directly from the SonoSim® Store?

  • If you are interested in purchasing more than one SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution, or interested in a bulk purchase for a training institution, please contact the SonoSim sales representative. If I buy the SonoSim® Personal Solution can I let someone else use it?

  • The SonoSim® Personal Solution was designed to operate on only one computer system at a time. There is no preclusion to allowing someone else to use your computer to access your SonoSim® Personal Solution, provided you are willing to share access to your personal computer.

Why do I only receive access to the content for one year?

  • The SonoSim® Personal Solution is available to users through a term-based license. Customers will have access to online SonoSim® courses and hands-on training cases for 12-months from the time of license activation.
  • SonoSim® Personal Solution customers can maintain ongoing access to existing online and hands-on training materials by becoming a SonoSim® member. They will also receive ongoing customer support and free software updates for the term of their membership.

How long will it take me to get my SonoSim® Probe and SonoSim® Drive in the mail?

  • You can choose the method by which the SonoSim® Personal Solution is mailed to you. Standard delivery takes 5 to 7 business days within the United States.

Does the SonoSim® Personal Solution come with technical support?

  • Yes. One year of technical support is included as part of the SonoSim® Care Agreement. Our committed customer support team is ready to help you with any issues that may arise related to our product. The care agreement can be extended on an annual basis for an additional fee.

How do I contact SonoSim® Technical Support?

  • The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution is designed to be quick, reliable, and easy to use. However, if you need assistance, the product comes with one-year of free customer service and technical support.

SonoSim® Shipping and Return Policy

Do I have to pay for shipping of my SonoSim® Personal Solution?

  • SonoSim provides free ground shipping for continental United States based customers that purchase their products through the online SonoSim® Store.

What if my SonoSim® Probe stops working?

  • Each SonoSim® Personal Solution comes with one free year of SonoSim® Care. This provides you with a one-year
    limited warranty and customer support. If your SonoSim® Probe ceases to function due
    to a manufacturer-related defect, SonoSim will replace the Probe free of charge within one year of purchase.

What if I cause damage to my SonoSim® Probe?

  • SonoSim will work with customers to repair or replace accidentally damaged SonoSim® Probes. Customers will
    receive a price quote following receipt and analysis of the damaged SonoSim® Probe by SonoSim technical staff.
    If you find the price quote acceptable, SonoSim will repair and ship the Probe back to you.

What if I lose my SonoSim® Probe?

  • If you lose your SonoSim® Probe, the cost of a replacement is $1,000.

What if I want to return my SonoSim® Personal Solution?

  • You can return the SonoSim® Personal Solution within 30 days of receiving your order, provided you have not activated your license. Once you have activated your license (i.e., installed the SonoSim® Software) you will no longer be eligible for a refund of your purchase.

How long will it take for you to ship my SonoSim® Personal Solution?

  • Standard shipping time is within five business days of a confirmed online order. Please expect additional days for the shipment to make its way to your destination.

How can I track my order?

    Following your order, SonoSim will provide you with information about your order via email. The emails you will receive include:

  • Order Acknowledgement Email: Once your order is placed, you will receive an order acknowledgement containing a summary of the items purchased.
  • Shipment Notification Email: Once your order is shipped, you will receive an email including the carrier’s name, tracking number, and estimated delivery date. You can click on the tracking number link to track your order.

 

Installing the SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution

How do I install my SonoSim® Personal Solution software?

  • Following your purchase of the SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution, you will receive an email confirming your order, as well as an email containing an activation file.
  • Plug the SonoSim® Drive into your computer and launch the appropriate installation program.
  • Navigate to the drive and run the InstallSonoSim.exe file, then follow the installation wizard.
    • For Windows: run Windows_InstallSonoSim.exe
    • For Mac OS X: run Mac_InstallSonoSim.pkg
  • Follow the installation instructions.

How do I start the SonoSim software?

  • Plug-in your SonoSim® Probe.
  • Launch the application from the SonoSim® icon located on your desktop or in your toolbar.
