Implementing a National Ultrasound Curriculum for Medical Students

Recognizing the benefits of early ultrasound education but seeing gaps in implementation, the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU) and the Alliance of Medical School Educators in Radiology (AMSER) designed a “National Ultrasound Curriculum for Medical Students.” In order to help medical educators and administrators integrate the recommendations, SonoSim has created a UME Curriculum Checklist mapping SonoSim Modules to the corresponding curriculum.

Increase Vascular Scanning Competency with New Pathologies

New aorta and IVC real-patient scanning cases are available in the Aorta/IVC Core Clinical Module. Use color-flow and pulsed-wave Doppler to evaluate and diagnose pathologies such as: aortic aneurysm with mural thrombus, aortic aneurysm with endovascular graft, bi-lobed fusiform aortic aneurysm, hypovolemia, infrarenal aortic aneurysm, and more.
