It successfully reduces the high opportunity costs traditionally associated with ultrasound education and training, while providing a refreshingly engaging learning experience. The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution is the fastest, easiest, and most efficient method of learning ultrasonography.

An integrated training solution.

The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution provides comprehensive didactic, knowledge assessment, and hands-on training modules using real patient ultrasound cases. Users can access didactic content presented in an interactive multimedia format using still and dynamic ultrasound imagery, audio narration, computer graphic imagery, and animation. World-class ultrasound instructors, medical educators, and leading computer scientists and instructional designers collaborated to create the training program.

Real patient-based SonoSim® case library.

The expansive hands-on training library covers a wide range of point-of-care topics. Over 100 SonoSim® cases are available in the SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution: Basic Edition. The cases cover a broad spectrum of normal and pathologic cases. Using a proprietary mobile data-acquisition platform, new cases are added on an ongoing basis, enabling rapid growth of the SonoSim® CaseVolume library.

Hands-on Training

SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution users will virtually scan real patient ultrasound cases comprising a myriad of pathologies. They will need to use the exact probe movements the original expert sonographers used to scan the original patients. Users are provided probe-positioning guidance to assist psychomotor skill development. Hands-on training is achieved using a handheld SonoSim® Sensor connected to a laptop computer creating a virtual patient-imaging environment. The SonoSim® Sensor replicates the exact tactile experience of using an actual ultrasound probe to scan a patient, creating an authentic and life-like experience. The fidelity is amazing.

Perfecting psychomotor skills.

The opportunity to practice in a risk-free virtual environment allows users to rapidly and safely perfect their psychomotor skills. Users are subsequently challenged to apply their newly acquired ultrasound image acquisition and interpretation skills toward clinical scenarios. SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution: Basic Edition users can select from a virtual library of over 100 SonoSim® cases, each of which represents a three-dimensional ultrasound dataset from a real patient. Learning “how to acquire an ideal ultrasound image window” is provided on a case-by-case basis through a unique set of hands-on training tools. The ability to remove layers of anatomy and view how a virtual ultrasound beam transects underlying anatomy further helps users interpret ultrasound imagery.
