As we step into November, SonoSim is excited to unveil several timely updates designed to take your ultrasound training to the next level. From new educational content to expanded product features, we’re committed to continuously enhancing your learning experience.

New Content: Gastric Ultrasound - Advanced Clinical Module

We’re proud to announce the release of our Gastric Ultrasound: Advanced Clinical Module. This comprehensive module guides you through the principles of performing gastric ultrasound to assess the nature and volume of gastric contents. You'll learn both qualitative and quantitative techniques for evaluating aspiration risk before procedural sedation or anesthesia. The module covers critical sonographic anatomy and scanning techniques to empower healthcare professionals with the skills needed for accurate gastric assessments.


Product Updates & New Features

Revamped Image Review in SonoSimulator® - We’ve given the image review feature a significant upgrade to improve efficiency and usability. Users can now perform bulk deletions, edit annotations, and seamlessly access instructor feedback within the SonoSimulator. These enhancements are aimed to help streamline the process of managing your images.

  1. New Focused Practice Designation (FPD) Test Prep for EM Ultrasound Fellows* & Faculty - Preparing for the Focused Practice Designation (FPD) Test in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound (AEMUS)? We’ve got you covered! Our newly launched FPD-AEMUS Test Prep provides targeted resources tailored specifically for Emergency Medicine fellows and faculty preparing for this exam. This feature leverages more than 3000 questions to build dynamic mock exams that mirror the actual exam. With unlimited practice and mock exams, fellows get focused knowledge, real patient cases, and the expert guidance needed to excel.
  2. Expanded SonoSim LiveScan® CaseBuilder Capabilities - We’ve expanded our CaseBuilder tool to include new ultrasound windows for Ocular and Neonatal Neurosonography. This enhancement allows instructors to craft even more diverse and specialized learning cases, providing students with a richer educational experience tailored to real-world clinical scenarios.
  3. New “How to Manage Users” Orientation Course - This new orientation course is a quick, comprehensive guide designed to help SonoSim administrators navigate the Manage Users interface within the SonoSim platform. This orientation covers essential tools such as adding and managing learners and admins, editing user details, organizing users into subgroups, and deactivating accounts. It takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete, providing a solid foundation for efficient user management.
  4. Extended Invitation Acceptance Window - To enhance the onboarding process, we’ve extended the window for learners to accept their SonoSim invitations from 5 days to 10 days. This change offers new users more flexibility in accessing and activating their accounts, ensuring a smoother start to their ultrasound training experience.

    *Currently, this feature is tailored for EM specialists and is not included with DMS licenses.
